This is my Olographic will and testament.
Art: 1st. I hereby appoint my brother-in-law, P. A. Rost my testamentary executor. I give him the seizin of all my succession, with power to dispose of it to the best advantage possible for the interests of my Sisters Odille Destréhan wife fo P. A. Rost, Céleste Destréhan, wife of P. Marigny to each of whom I bequeath equally my succession when liquidated according to the accounts rendered by my testamentary executor.
Art. 2nd. In case of death or resignation on the part of said brotehr, I appoint W. W. Montgomery of this city in his stead with same and equal power to execute this my last will.
Art. 3rd. Wherefore, if I happen to die in these United States my body or remains must be transported to the Parish of St. Charles, State fo Louisiana and a tomb of fie to one thousand dollars must be erected in the grave yard of said Parish, by the side of my father, brothers and sisters tombs; and a sum of money placed at interests such as to yield one hundred dollars perpetually and annually for the purpose of keeping the said tombs in a first strait order. My testamentary executors must attend to the execution of this article before any part of my property be disposed of, otherwise. I bequeath it to the State of Louisiana, to erect asylums for the orphans males and females, a monument notwithstanding must attended to as above stated, with my name, age, etc. etc.
Art. 4th. Any will ro testament made by me previous to this is hereby null and void.
