  • Notes
    • Ann who married Martin Cockburn, a young Scotsman whom she met while he was traveling in this country. She would not leave Virginia so he remained and built a home near Gunston Hall called Springfield. The house is still standing [as of 1980]. He was described as a fine scholar and polished gentleman and they were said to be close friends as well as neighbors and relatives of the Mason Family at Gunston Hall. They had no children.
