    • In 1804, Paul Lanusse, due to his leading position in the social and business life of his community, won the hand of one of the most distinguished young ladies in New Orleans. She was known as the vivacious and charming Marie-Céleste de Macarty, the daughter of Jean-Baptiste de Macarty-Mactaig and Héloïse Charlotte de Fazende. [3]
