 | Cecile de Jaham and her children Aunt Cecile with her four girls, Josephine, Cecile, Marie and Genevieve (known as Bebe). These are Uncle George's children. This photo is a negative I discovered amongst family documents. |
 | Marie de Jaham Daughter of Uncle Georges (though I'm not certain if it's Josephine Marie or Marie Adele). |

Notes |
Died:
- Marie deJaham Strassel was called home on Friday, January 17, 2020 surrounded by love following a 5 year battle with Alzheimer?s. She was born on July 3, 1925 in New Orleans, LA to George deJaham and Cecilia Grashoff deJaham.
Marie is survived by her daughter JoAnn Strassel Hamburger and her grandchildren Adam J. Hamburger (Lindsay) and Justin G. Hamburger.
Marie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, George J. Strassel, her sisters Josephine, Genieve, and her best friend in life Cecilia.
Marie taught for many years at St. Cecilia and St. Robert Bellarmine Grammar Schools. After retiring from teaching, she devoted her time to her beloved husband, family and friends. She was a member of the Versailles Homemaker Club, the St. Bernard Association for Family & Community Education, and enjoyed her favorite past time Canasta.
Post Katrina, she was lovingly accepted by her daughter?s Sisters-of-the-Heart, and joined them in continuing her love of cards as a member of the Palmisano Ladies Po-Keno Club and the Canasta Group, where she called herself the ?Old Lady?.
