He was probably born in 1830 in WBR. He enrolled in the Tirailleurs in May 1861, at Camp Moore. He was the son of Onisphor Bernard and Irene Hebert. His grandfather was Felix Bernard du Montier, who came to Louisiana in 1785 on the La Ville d'Archangel. He was the second cousin of Arthur Blanchard. He deserted, Jan 20th, 1863. |
