Histories |
 | Stewarts of Bright A Brief Record of the Stewarts of Bright in the County of Down in the Province of Ulster |
-
Notes |
- This record begins, albeit somewhat sketchily, in 1664 when James Stewart was born in Ballachulish, Argyllshire, Scotland. He is said to have left Scotland in 1700, and became a farmer in Bright, County Down, in Ulster, one of the four provinces of Ireland - (the others being, Leinster, Munster and Connaught). James had a son, James, about whom nothing is known except that he is supposed to have left his family when quite young and went to America [1]
