- His grandfather was one of the founders of Quebec, Canada.
He was the first cousin to the first Governor of Louisiana, Pierre Le Moyne, sieur d'Iberville and his brother
Gov. Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne, sieur d'Bienville
In 1700, he explored & established trade with the Natchitoches Indians voyaging on Red River.
In 1713, he founded in Louisiana, the village-post of Natchitoches.
In 1714 built a garrisoned post to repel the Spanish, promoted trade, searched mines.
On July 19, 1714 he strode into the Presidio San Juan Bautista del Rio Grande de Norte, located in the state of Coahuila, Mexico. While there, he married in 1716.
A member of the Ramon Expedition of 1716.
After 1720 he served for 24 years as commandant of the Upper Cane - Red River - Natchitoches District Born at Quebec in 1676. His tomb (1744) is under the site of the first parish church."
In 1721, he was the Commander of Post St. Jean Baptiste in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
King Louis XV of France, for his leadership in dealing with the native Indians and his victory at Pensacola won him knighthood in the military Order of St. Louis.

LOUIS JUCHEROT DE ST. DENIS
June 12, 1744, burial within the parish church of Louis Jucherot de St. Denis, aged 70 years, Chevalier of the Order of St. Louis, commandant of the Fort of Jean Baptiste, who died on the eleventh of the same month and year.
Witnesses: Juero Bonet, Fr. Franco. Ballejo, and Verchus de Terrepuy.
