Notes |
- Through his Le Breton mother, Jn Bte Lartigue le jeune had a cousin named Marie Rose Jaham Beaupre. She had at least three husbands, in this order: Louis Guino, Charles Guesnau, and Leclair Dujon. The first two were procureurs du roi in St Lucia in the 1760's and 70's. Jn Bte Lartigue's mother married a second time, to Augustin Vincent. She may or may not have had a daughter named Jeanne Vincent. Sometimes Jeanne Vincent is stated in records to have been a half-sister of Jn Bte Lartigue, sometimes just a stepsister. Jeanne Vincent married Nelson Couperie. The Guesnau, Dujon, and Couperie families owned estates near Castries. Jn Bte Lartigue le jeune was heavily involved in these, often representing his relatives when they were absent from the island. Some of his sons also owned estates in this area. In some cases they bought them later when larger estates were dismembered. It is not clear whether they had any connection with the Guesnau/Dujon/Couperie estates although in some cases the Lartigue estates, such as Belair, had been part of them.
